Andrea E. Schutz

Andrea’s practice includes corporate finance and business transactions with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, debt financings, and general business counseling and governance matters. She represents both small and large companies on a variety of matters, including formation, growth capital, lending arrangements, equity compensation for executives, mergers, acquisitions, asset sales and serving as outside general counsel. Andrea has substantial experience in advising companies and investors in mergers and acquisition and complex financing transactions ranging from $1 million to $100 million in aggregate transaction value, and she regularly advises private companies on a wide variety of topics relevant to the M&A and financing process.
Prior to co-founding Queen, Saenz + Schutz, Andrea practiced in Austin, Texas, at Graves, Dougherty, Hearon and Moody and the San Francisco, California, office of O’Melveny & Myers. Andrea graduated from the University of Texas School of Law School, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif, and she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated magna cum laude. Andrea is a member of the Texas bar and California bar. Andrea has been selected to the Texas Rising Stars list, Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters), 2019 through 2021 for Mergers & Acquisitions.
When Andrea is not practicing law, she enjoys bicycling around Austin with her husband Constantine and daughters Nefeli and Cleio. In addition, Andrea regularly participates as a volunteer business law teacher at BIG Austin, a local non-profit offering business counseling and flexible loans to small business owners.
